Frequently Asked Questions
What makeup brand do you use?
I do not use one brand exclusively. If I find a product that is excellent quality, performs well and is nice to use, I will add it to my kit.
There are some brands I avoid as they test on animals and it’s important to me that the products I use are cruelty free. Some of my favourite brands include Laura Mercier, Kevyn Acoin, Benefit and Napoleon Perdis. I take great pride in maintaining a clean, hygienic and up-to-date kit.
How long will it take for you to do my/our make up?
It all depends on how many faces I am making up and what time the bride needs to leave. As a general rule, I like to allow 40 mins to an hour per face. This ensures that the process isn’t rushed and is enjoyable for all involved.
Is a trial absolutely necessary?
In my 14 years of making brides beautiful, I’ve never had a bride feel less than perfect on her day.
The reason we get it so right on that special day is because I will it’s imperative that we do a trial makeup before the big day. In doing so, we have the opportunity to discuss what looks you like, as well as the looks you don’t, how much makeup you are comfortable wearing, your skin type, what your dress is like as well as some basic beauty suggestions in the lead up to your wedding.
At the trial, we go through the full application and tweak whatever you feel necessary until your perfect look has been created. It’s always a great idea to try and time the trial with an event: your hens, a birthday party, a night out etc so you have the opportunity to wear the makeup for a length of time to experience the longevity of it. Having done a trial ensures that we both know exactly what application, colours and look we workshopped and there are no surprises on The Day.
It will provide you with peace of mind so that you can relax and enjoy the pampering. I will take photos and make a written record of colours and products used.
What if I live interstate or in another country?
Many of my brides come from interstate or choose to have their weddings in Australia as a destination wedding or elopement. Obviously in this instance a trial would be impossible. Refer to the gallery on my website to see for yourself the quality and professionalism that all of my clients receive and I’m sure this will put your mind at ease knowing that you will look as stunning on your wedding day too. We can liaise via email and phone or even Skype to discuss the things that we would ordinarily cover in the trial.
